Recognition — Idaho Leadership Awards

Honoring the people building Idaho.

The Idaho Leadership Awards recognize Idahoans whose work, judgment, service, and investment in others deserve a wider audience. Nominations for our inaugural cycle are open now.

Purpose

Recognition that reflects character, not prominence.

These awards celebrate leadership defined by impact, integrity, and investment in others — not popularity, wealth, or position. Honorees become part of the story Idaho Leaders tells about what good leadership looks like across our state.

Inaugural categories

Three awards for our first year.

We are launching with a focused set of categories and will add more — including a Lifetime Stewardship honor — as the program grows.

Award

Emerging Leader

An Idahoan showing exceptional promise, initiative, judgment, and service early in a leadership journey.

Award

Excellence in Mentorship

A leader whose sustained investment in others has helped develop stronger professionals, organizations, and communities.

Award

Community Leadership

Substantial service and leadership that has measurably strengthened an Idaho community or institution.

Eligibility

Nominees must live or work in Idaho and demonstrate leadership relevant to the category. Self-nominations are welcome. Current Idaho Leaders board members and staff are not eligible during their term.

How nominees are evaluated

  • Demonstrated impact on people, organizations, or communities
  • Integrity and sound judgment
  • Investment in others and willingness to share credit
  • Service beyond personal advancement
  • Consistency and duration of contribution
  • Evidence supporting the nomination

Selection & fairness

A selection committee reviews nominations against these criteria. Committee members recuse themselves from any nomination where they have a personal or professional conflict of interest. Recognition is never influenced by donations, sponsorship, or personal connections.
