Idaho’s next leaders already exist. Our work is to help them prepare, connect them with experience, and make their leadership visible.
Our mission
Idaho Leaders is a nonprofit that develops capable Idahoans at every career stage. We provide mentorship, practical training, professional relationships, recognition, and opportunities to serve — so that more Idahoans are prepared to take on responsibility in their workplaces, institutions, and communities.
Why this matters now
Idaho is growing, and its need for prepared leadership is growing with it. Businesses, schools, nonprofits, and public institutions across the state need people ready to assume greater responsibility. Yet many capable Idahoans lack access to the mentors, practical experience, and relationships that help people grow into those roles — especially outside the state’s largest cities.
How we work
Everything we do follows four commitments. We develop people through practical training and real projects. We connect them with mentors, peers, employers, and community institutions. We promote deserving leadership through profiles, spotlights, and the Idaho Leadership Awards. And we ask those who benefit to return — as mentors, advisors, and supporters of the next generation.
Where we are today
Idaho Leaders is in its founding phase. We are assembling our founding network of mentors, advisors, employers, and supporters, and designing our inaugural fellowship cohort. We would rather tell you honestly where we are than overstate our maturity — and we welcome the people and institutions who want to help build this from the beginning.
Our commitments on governance
As we grow, we hold ourselves to a clear standard: independent, merit-based selection of participants; no purchased access or preferential placement for donors; transparent finances as the organization matures; and public reporting on our programs and results.
